The Village shop feels as though it has always been there and is a real meeting place for the village. It is lovely to hear the comments of visitors and those coming in for the first time who are impressed by the spacious feel and the range of stock held.
With nearly 12 months of trading behind us we are preparing for our 1st Birthday Party on Sunday 1st November and thinking about our 2nd Christmas. The regular volunteers are now used to the till system and the other procedures. There are several new volunteers coming forward and we can all help them to get through any problems. We are getting to grips with the various computer systems although there is still a lot to do to get them to work as they should.
We have a new management team - Laura Taviner - Executive Manager who started at the end of July and Corenna Jennings who is our Administrator.
The children’s play equipment has been very popular with all ages and the outside seating has also been very welcome.
The Post Office is now open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 2.00 - 5.30. Rod is looking for an additional person to train up and eventually take over. Anyone interested in knowing more please contact him at the Post Office.
Thanks to all our volunteers for smiling through the teething troubles and to our customers for putting up with the queues and delays.
